This track called "heart work," is meant to raise some extra funds for The John Howard Society of Ottawa's Supportive Employment and Training Programs, whom I am so proud to be a part of.

Please read on to find out more about why buying this track for any price is a good thing to do. (100% of all proceeds of this song will go to funding activities held by JHS's Supportive Employment and Training Programs).

As of the pandemic, like many others, my life changed and I had to make some serious decision about my future. I found support for these changes through our local resources for mental health, employment hubs and government education programs. It changed my whole life. Without the support I'd found, I don't know if I would have even made it back to school (Thank you, Danielle!).

As of May this year, I am a graduate of Algonquin College's 2 year Community Justice Services Program, and have taken a position as Facilitator of JHS's Share Forward Mentorship program. I LOVE the team I work with! I LOVE the people we work so hard for! I have never felt so surrounded by so many kind, caring and gracious people; Each sharing their warmth and changing the lives of so many. I often say that my heart and mind have grown a million sizes since I began working in this position.

JHS is a 50 year old, Canada wide, non-for-profit, who support vulnerable populations who are at risk or are in conflict with the law. The JHS team of over 200 people in Ottawa alone, work tirelessly to support our vulnerable populations and change so many lives in beautiful ways.

Although I have found a new career path, I am, always and forever, a songwriter. This track was inspired by my experience at JHS. I thought it would be fitting to raise some funds for hosting creative workshops and activities for the JHS Ottawa community with a song.
